Roger M Hendrickson

Roger M. Hendrickson, age 60, of Chestnut Road, Kutztown PA, died Monday, March 4, 2002 in his home. He was the husband of Kathleen C. (Barry) Hendrickson. The couple celebrated their 36th Wedding Anniversary last September.

Born in Philadelphia PA, he was the Son of Beatrice A. (Smith) Hendrickson of Willow Grove PA and the late Dudley M. Hendrickson. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church, Allentown PA.

He taught elementary education at the North Penn School District, Lansdale PA, from 1964 to 1969. He was then employed by the Brandywine Heights Area School District, Topton PA, as Elementary School Principal from 1971 to 1983 serving the District Topton, Longswamp, and Rockland Elementary Schools; then was the Principal of the High School from 1983 to 1997. He received his BS from Gordon College, Wenham MA and his MA from Lehigh University. He did additional post graduate work at Lehigh University. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.

His Memberships and Accomplishments include: Member of the Topton Jaycees, Topton; Member of the PA Student Assistance Professionals; Student Teaching Associate of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania; Phi Delta Kappa; National Association of Secondary Principals; School District Chairman of the American Red Cross; District Liaison to the Berks County Intermediate Unit; Member of the United States Tennis Association and also served as a Tennis Official; Member of the Volunteer Staff of the Betsy King First Union Golf Classic, held at the Berkley County Club, Kutztown; Member of the West End Tennis and Racket Club of Allentown; Berks County Tennis Association; and Miata Car Club.

He is survived by his Wife and Mother; Daughters, Stacia Lynn (Hendrickson) Redslob of Loveland OH, Pamela Jean (Hendrickson) Boan of Westminster MD and Kristine Anne (Hendrickson) DiZazzo of New York City NY; Sister, Bonnie Lynn (Hendrickson) Whisler of Willow Grove PA; and 4 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 8, 2002 in the Faith Evangelical Free Church, 6528 Hamilton Boulevard, Allentown. Family and Friends may Call 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Thursday evening in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown PA. Interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood PA.
