Robert R. Younger

Robert R. Younger, Jr., 82, formerly of Mertztown, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of Arlene M. (Geiger) Younger, whom he married January 25, 1958.  Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Robert R. Sr., and Marjorie Younger.  Mr. Younger was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers. Robert worked over 30 years as a laborer at Bally Case & Cooler, Bally.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Arlene, Robert is survived by daughters: Sheila Y. (Younger), wife of Donald R. Watkins, Sacramento, CA; Denett L. (Younger), wife of Lee A. Smith, Mertztown; sons: Robert R. Younger, III, Lincoln, CA; and Rodney S. Younger, Sacramento, CA. Other survivors include grandchildren: Andrew, husband of Michelle Smith; Ashley A., wife of Scott E. Leinbach, Jr., and Samantha Watkins; and great grandchildren: Christopher and Victoria Estrada; Elizabeth R. and Bentley Leinbach. Robert was predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather M. Smith.

A funeral service to celebrate Robert's life will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Elizabeth M. Haines, officiating.  Interment in Union Cemetery of Bowers. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, to defray funeral expenses, excesses will go toward Alzheimer's Disease.
