Robert Lee Boyer, 74, of Lynchburg, VA, died Sunday, October 2, 2005, in his residence atop Long Mountain, Campbell County, VA. He was the husband of Patricia Maya (Rouser) Boyer. They were married 49 years.
Born in Topton, PA, he was the son of the late Elam and the late Thelma (Herman) Boyer. He was employed as an engineer with Babcock and Wilcox, Lynchburg, since 1957, retiring as a project engineer in 1994. He was a 1949 graduate of Kutztown High School, Kutztown, and a 1954 graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a lieutenant in the US Army, Peacetime. He was a dedicated volunteer serving as a Boy Scout Leader, volunteering at the Appomattox Salvation Army Thrift Store, Appomattox; and his grandson’s school, James River Day School, Lynchburg.
He is survived by Wife, Sons, Steven Boyer, Spout Springs, VA, Eric Boyer, Richmond, VA; Sisters, Marjorie (Boyer) Mabry, Topton, June (Boyer) Fisher, Topton, Roseanne (Boyer) Kobylinski, Cherry Hill, NJ; 2 Grandchildren.
Memorial Services are Friday, October 7, 2005 in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg, VA.
