Robert L Long

Dr. Robert L. Long, age 76, of 175 Summit Trace Road, Langhorne PA, died Sunday, October 29, 2000 in the Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown PA. He was the husband of Phyllis B. (Best) Romig. The couple celebrated their 53rd Anniversary this past February.

Born in Mertztown PA, he was the son of the late Irvin L. and Verna (Snyder) Romig. He was a member of St. John's UCC Church, Kutztown. He had a dental practice in Mt Holly Springs from 1951 - 1962 and an orthodontic practice in Pennsburg, Quakertown and Newtown from 1964 until his retirement in 1990. He was a 1940 graduate of Kutztown Area Senior High School; and a 1947 graduate of Kutztown University with a degree in math and science. He received his Doctorate Degree of Dentistry in 1951 and his Masters Degree in Orthodontics in 1964, both from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh PA. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp having served during World War II. He was past president of the Kutztown University Foundation; past president of Trinity Lutheran Church Council, Quakertown; and past director of the Quakertown Lions Club.

He is survived by his Wife; Daughter, Linda R. (Romig) Bond of New Canaan CT; Sons, David R. Romig of Summerville PA, William B. Romig of Yardley PA and Donald T. Romig of Long Beach NY; Sisters, Corrine (Romig) Reppert of Breinigsville PA and Mildred (Romig) Reinhard of Mertztown PA and 10 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in St. John's UCC Church, 257 W. Walnut Street, Kutztown PA 19530. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call 12:15 p.m. until the time of the Service.
