Robert J. Nilon, 66, “One day at a time” of Lynn Township, Lehigh County, died Friday, January 30, 2009 in Palmerton Hospital.

Born in Darby, Delaware County, PA, he was a son of the late John W. and Lillian E. (Douthwaite) Nilon. He was Roman Catholic. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. For many years he was a truck driver for various companies. From 1988 until his retirement in 2003 he owned and operated Blue Mountain House of Hope, Inc., an inpatient facility for addiction recovery, now White Deer Run at Blue Mountain, Kempton, PA. He enjoyed racing sprint cars, sports and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by Special friend, Vanetta B. Berry, Kempton; Daughters, Kathleen L. Nilon, Media, Delaware County, Rebecca L. Nilon companion of Paris N. Powell, Williamstown, NJ; Sons, Jason P. Nilon fiancé of Patty Linden, Aston, Delaware County, Robert E. Nilon and Timothy N. Nilon, both of Bethlehem. In addition there are 2 Sisters, Sarah P. (Nilon) wife of David E. Herrold, Mertztown, Berks County and Lillian M. (Nilon) wife of William A. Martin, Media, Delaware County; 3 Brothers, John W. Jr. husband of Rita (Conner) Nilon, Rose Valley, Delaware County, Michael J. Nilon husband of Dr. Barbara Freiman, Gladwyne and J. Patrick husband of Bonnie L. (Paradise) Nilon, Kennett Square. There are 2 Granddaughters, Kelly M. Nilon and Aysia R. Powell.

A Prayer Service Vigil will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2009, 7:00 PM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Graveside Services are Thursday, February 5, 2008, 11:00 AM. in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Friends may call Wednesday, 5:30 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
