Robert F Madeira

Robert F. ‘Slim’ Madeira, age 86, of 40B South Elm Street, Kutztown PA, died Saturday, April 29, 2000 in Henry Health Care Center of The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of Cathrine M. (Oswald) Madeira. They were married 65 years.

Born in Topton PA, he was the son of the late Howard and Lillian (Keiser) Madeira. He was employed as a truck driver for Caloric Corporation’s former Topton Plant for 27 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC Church Kutztown, where he was a former consistory member.

He is survived by his Wife; 2 Sons, Rev. Dennis F. Madeira of Dallas PA and Gene R. Madeira of Kutztown PA; A Brother, Paul Madeira of Kutztown PA; A Sister, Mabel (Madeira) Burkey of Hamburg PA; 4 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by Yvonne L. Madeira, who died in 1942.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 AM in St. Paul’s UCC Church 49-51 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Thursday 10:00 AM until time of service in the church. Contributions may be made to the Luekemia Society of America Inc. or the Memorial Fund of the church.
