Robert C Kemp

Robert C. Kemp, 80, of Longswamp Township, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 in the family residence. He was the husband of Mary A. (Reitenauer) Kemp, whom he married May 20, 1961.

Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late John W. and Lucy S. (Fritch) Kemp. He was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown, where he was a former council member and served on the property committee. He was a 1948 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea. Mr. Kemp was a self-employed cabinet maker from 1954 to 1966 in Mertztown. He then worked as a supervisor in the custom shop at Allen Organ Co., Macungie, PA from 1966 till his retirement in 1999. He is a member of the Ray A. Master, Post #217 American Legion, Topton, PA.

He is survived by Wife, Son, Craig R., husband of Jody A. (Roth) Kemp, Fleetwood; Grandchildren, Brian A. Kemp, Eric M. Kemp, and Step Grandchildren, Brendan J. MacLean, Moira R. MacLean, and Preston C. MacLean.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, February 21, 2011, at 10:30 AM from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown. Inurnment will be in Longswamp Union Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 117, Mertztown, PA 19539. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
