Mr. Robert Alfred Howerter

Robert Alfred “Bob” Howerter, 92, formerly of Mertztown, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. Born in Lynn Township, Lehigh County, Bob was a son of the late Alfred and Ella (Smith) Howerter. Bob was a Carpenter by trade. During his career, he was employed by Wetzel Construction, Allen Organ Company, Dietrich Homes and a construction business in Allentown, PA. He was also a part-time farmer. Bob was a member of Calvary Temple, Allentown, where he served as a former Deacon.

He is survived by his two sons, Bruce Robert Howerter, Duluth, GA, and Keith Stuart “Squirrel” Howerter, Mertztown; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Michelle. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by a sister, Florence and two brothers, Edwin and Paul.

Graveside services and interment will be held privately in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, PA.
