Ricky L Schaeffer

Ricky L. Schaeffer, 55, of Kutztown, died Monday, November 15, 2010, in his residence. He was the companion of Marie S. (Adam) Leibensperger.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late George W. and Joyce E. (Barto) Schaeffer. He was employed as a press operator over ten years for Reitnouer, Inc./Dor-Mae Industries, Inc., Tuckerton; prior to that, he worked for Village Motors, Fleetwood and Grim’s Auto Parts, Bowers as a salvage man; prior to that he worked at Caloric Corp., Topton, for many years. He was a 1973 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and attended Lehigh County Community College, Schnecksville.

He is survived by Companion, adopted Daughter, Kendall D. Moyer, at home; Step Children, Michael D. Leibensperger, Myrtle Beach, SC, Matthew J. Leibensperger, Kutztown, Amanda S. Leibensperger, at home and a Foster Son, Craig M. Grate. Other survivors include a Sister, Karen E. (Schaeffer) wife of Scott Weidenhammer, Blandon; Brothers, Wallace G. husband of Sylvia (Yoder) Schaeffer, Reading and Scott A. husband of Carol L. (Hrobach) Schaeffer, Mertztown. There are also 5 Step Grandchildren, Brianna T. and Kayla L. Leibensperger, Brian R. O’Donnell, III, Lily M. and Hailey F. Leibensperger and Kayla S. Grate, Fleetwood, and one on-the-way. He was predeceased by a Step Son, Mark A. Leibensperger and a Brother, Charles M. Schaeffer.

Funeral Services are Friday, November 19, 2010, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Thursday, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, 19605. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
