Richard H. Heffner, 74, of Kutztown, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 in his family residence. He was the husband of Mary Alice (Batz) Heffner. They were married March 1, 1952.
Born in Kutztown, PA, he was a son of the late Henry and Esther (Stump) Heffner. He was employed as a truck driver from 1970 until his retirement in 1997 by East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyon Station. Prior to that, he was Terminal Manager at the former A.P.A. Trucking, Kutztown for five years. He first worked as a truck driver for the former Beck’s Feed & Grain Mill, Kutztown. He was a member of Kutztown and Lyons Fire Companies. He was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
He is survived by Wife, Mary Alice Heffner; Daughter, Deborah A. (Heffner) wife of George S. Barrell, Kutztown; Son, Timothy R. Heffner, Kutztown; Brother, Barry S. Heffner, West Reading; Grandsons, Matthew N. and Nicholas A. Barrell.
There will be a public viewing Tuesday, September 18, 2007, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Saint John’s Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, followed by private interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.
The family requests contributions be made to Saint John’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
