Richard F. "Dick" "Drucky" Druckenmiller, 98, of Topton, died peacefully, Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the widower of Anna M. (Deisher) Druckenmiller, who died October 5, 2022. They had been married 72 years at the time of Anna's passing. Born in Emmaus, Lehigh County, Richard was a son the late Harold G. and Shirley (Fegley) Druckenmiller. Richard was raised in the Emmaus Moravian Church. He was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1945, and shortly thereafter entered the United States Navy, serving during the height of WWII.
Following his honorable discharge from Military Service, Richard enrolled at the Radio Electronics Institute, Philadelphia, PA, to study and become certified as a Television Technician. Following his graduation Dick work in the television repair department of Grim's Appliance, Kutztown, from 1950 to 1962. Then from 1962 until his retirement in 1985, he worked as an engineer in Engineering Department of Western Electric, then AT&T, Allentown.
Richard was a past president and former member of the Topton Borough Council. He also was a dedicated life member of Ray A. Master, Post 217, American Legion, Topton, and its Honor Guard. He served as post commander in 1952; 1981-1983; 1986-1995, a total of nine terms, including during the devastating fire that destroyed the original Legion building June 10, 1994. Drucky was a dedicated member of the Honor Guard and for many years he and his late wife Anna, coordinated the scheduling of the services provided by the group. Even with his advanced age, deteriorating eyesight, and at times needing assistance in navigating the uneven ground of cemeteries, Richard was always present with the Honor Guard to show honor and respect to his fallen comrades. Dick was a member of the Brother's of '76, a group that originally started during the bicentennial. He truly loved his community and gave back to the community by serving others.
Richard was a member of the Emmaus Sentinels Drum & Bugle Corps and Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps, which lead Richard to become a judge in the tri-state area for band front color guard, which he did for many years while he had a young family, and they remember traveling with him to judge competitions in the tri-states area and in Niagara Falls. Drucky also was an avid golfer having 3 holes-in-one during his career.
Richard is survived by three children: Richard F., Jr., , husband of Ruth A. (Bleiler) Druckenmiller, Milton, DE; Beth A. (Druckenmiller), wife of Jeffrey J. Boyer, Mertztown; and Alison A. (Druckenmiller), wife of Gary C. Green, Kutztown. Other survivors include a sister, Joanne (Druckenmiller) Sharrer, Bethlehem; and a brother Terry Greene, Yuma, AZ. There are eight grandchildren: Dana M. (Druckenmiller) Rose; Richard F. Druckenmiller, III; Thomas J. Druckenmiller; Ian D. Beach, Alexander Beach; Jillian Beach; Zachary Green; and Taylor Green; and six great grandchildren: Connor and Emerson Rose; T. J. and Derek Druckenmiller; and Finn G. and Birdie R. Roma.
In addition to his wife Anna, and parents, Richard was predeceased by siblings: Beverly (Druckenmiller) Reinhard; Jack Druckenmiller; Peter Druckenmiller; and Jane (Druckenmiller) Serfass.
A Graveside Service to Celebrate and Honor Richard's life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Honor located at the Topton American Legion, 133 Centre Avenue, Topton, with Chaplain Charles Ackerman, officiating. Military Honors to conclude services.
