Mr. Richard Charles Dietrich

June 18, 1956 — December 29, 2023

Richard "Rich" "Dick" Charles Dietrich, 67, of Greenwich Township, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 29, 2023 on his family farm, where he was also born and raised. He was the loving husband of Kathleen "Kathy" A. (Sadusky) Dietrich, whom he married on May 18, 1985.

Born in 1956, Rich was a son of the late Nevin S. and Jean M. (Oswald) Dietrich and was a 1974 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Rich was a proud and devoted farmer and hard worker his entire life. He and his wife Kathy operated their own crop and dairy farm for many years. After Rich and Kathy made the hard decision to no longer operate the dairy part of their farm in 1998, Rich worked for several different companies including Berks Products in Leesport, Mancor, Inc., in Allentown, and Brenntag North America, Inc., in Reading.

Rich honorably and faithfully served his country in The Pennsylvania National Guard for several years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Krumsville, and was also a member of Teamsters Local 429. Along with farming, Rich enjoyed spending time with his dogs, hunting, music and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan!

Even though Rich and Kathy did not have any children of their own, God gave them many cows. Along with his wife of 38 years, Kathy, Rich is survived by his four siblings, Nevin S. Dietrich, and his wife, Carol, Audrey M. (Dietrich) Poole, and her husband, Robert, Annette M. (Dietrich) Stein, widow of Gus, and Thomas E. Dietrich, and his wife, Karen; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

A viewing for Rich will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. There will be no formal service or burial at this time.
