Richard C. Reis

Richard C. Reis, Sr., 81, of New Ringgold, Schuykill County, died Friday, April 21, 2023, in Pottsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Pottsville. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Schittler) Reis, whom he married August 1, 1959. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles J. and Bertha M. (Few) Reis. Mr. Reis was a former member of Frieden's Lutheran Church, New Ringgold. He was first employed as a truck driver for his father, at Reis Trucking, Leesport, from 1959 until 1976, then, employed as truck driver for Gangloff Trucking, New Ringgold for over 25 years, retiring in 2014. Following his retirement, he worked for Jeff Hill Christmas Tree Farm, New Ringgold, doing maintenance work.

Survivors: Daughters, Susie A. Polkowski, companion of John Polkowski, Port Clinton, Debbie M., wife of Curlie Shaner, Reading, Denise R. Reis, Schuylkill Haven, and Crystral L. Wotring, Pottsville; one son, Richard C., Jr., husband of Arlene M. Kreager, Schuylkill Haven; two sisters, Trudy Sherer, Mahanoy City, and Susan Edwards, Dauberville; one brother, David Reis, Schuykill Haven; there are also ten grandchildren: April, Jonathan, Amanda, Kasey, Katie, Tanya,Charles, Kayla, Abbey, Gaige, Maddison, and Harmonie and sixteen great grandchildren: Austin, Carter, Grayson, Josh, Skylar, Michael, Diego, Pedro "P.J.", Julian, Lillian, Hannah, Emma, Rachel, Rebecca, Kanein, and Chandler. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Patricia Riegel, a brother, Barry Reis, a granddaughter, Chrissy, and a great grandson, Logan.

Services: A Funeral services to honor and celebrate Richard's life will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Kimberly Berenotto, officiating. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:00a.m. in the funeral home.
