Richard A. Yenser, 78, of Wilson Manor, Kutztown (Maxatawny Twp.) formerly of Mertztown, died Friday, February 18, 2005, in his residence. He was married to the late Mae E. (Wartzenluft) Yenser who died May 14, 2000.
Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late David and the late Clara (Christman) Yenser. He was employed as a Security Guard at East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyons from 1973 until his retirement in 1991. Prior to that, he worked for over ten years as a knitter, then a security guard at the former Keith Knitting Mills, Mertztown. He was a member of the Kutztown Auxiliary Police, the Kutztown Fire Police and served as the Emergency Management Coordinator of Longswamp Township for many years. He also was a volunteer at The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Twp., for many years. He was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
He is survived by Twin Daughter Karen L. (Yenser) wife of Roy A. Burkey, Topton, Twin daughter Kathy L. (Yenser) wife of Ruel C. Reitenauer, Bowers; 5 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 2:00 PM from Saint John’s Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Tuesday, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the church.
Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the church, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
