Ray N. Barrell, 77, formerly of East Main Street, Kutztown, died Saturday, December 23, 2006, in Lehigh Center, Macungie, where he resided since June 9, 2005. He was the husband of the late Jean L. (Stopp) Barrell who died June 4, 1996.
Born in Richmond Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Herman O. and Clara E. (Bieber) Barrell. He first worked as a home route delivery man for Lehigh Valley Dairy, Allentown for 25 years. He then worked as a supervisor in A-1 plant at East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyon Station. He later became the 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM plant supervisor from 1972 until his retirement in December, 1995. He was a US Marine Corps veteran serving from 1946 to 1947. He was a social member and member of the relief organization of Fleetwood Fire Co., No. 1, Fleetwood. He was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
He is survived by Daughters, Pamela A. (Barrell) wife of Gregory W. Heid, Kutztown, Lori A. (Barrell) wife of Raymond E. Baycar, Allentown; Son, Brian R., husband of Keni M. (Coffin) Barrell, Mertztown. In addition, there are 3 Grandchildren, Adam B., Kara L. and Hallie A. Barrell. Also surviving is Sister, Kathryn (Barrell) Kunkel, Riverview Park, Reading. He was predeceased by two brothers, Lee, December 16, 1963, and George, March 20, 1980.
Memorial Services are Thursday, December 28, 2006, 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Inurnment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Thursday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
The family requests contributions be made to Saint John’s Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown, 19530 or Activities Department, Lehigh Center, 1718 Spring Creek Road, Macungie, 18062. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
