Mr. Ray M. Wessner

March 7, 1929 — December 12, 2021

Ray M. Wessner, 92, of Luther Haven Cottages, Topton, and formerly of Fleetwood, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the loving husband of Marie R. (Heffner) Wessner, whom he married on August 18, 1956.

Born in Richmond Township, Ray was a son of the late Paul H. and Mary E. (Moyer) Wessner. He was a graduate of Fleetwood Area High School and was a longtime member of Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. Ray honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Army, stationed in Berlin, Germany, during the Korean War.

He was employed as a Cabinet Assembler by the former Pinnacle Equipment Corporation, Fleetwood, for 46 years, until his retirement in 1992. Ray was a member of Horace M. Kieffer Post 625, American Legion, Fleetwood, Fleetwood Area Historical Society and Lyons Fire Company. He was an avid gardener who took great pride in his home.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, Marie, Ray is survived by his son, Michael P., husband of Delma (Eckman) Wessner, New Canaan, CT; two grandchildren, Alison C. Wessner and Benjamin M. Wessner, both of New York, NY; special nephew, David Nace, and his wife, Susan; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ray was predeceased by two sisters, Helen A. (Wessner) Shade and Mae M. (Wessner) Nace; and a brother, Daniel M. Wessner.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held privately in Becker's St. Peter's Church Cemetery, Richmond Township.

The family requests memorial contributions be made in Ray's memory to Horace M. Kieffer Post 625, American Legion, Fleetwood, 120 E. Arch Street, Fleetwood, PA  19522.
