Mr. Randall F. "Randy" Unger

Randall F. "Randy" Unger, 79, of Kutztown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024 in Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Kutztown. He was the husband of Alice M. (Bailey) Unger, whom he married on September 6, 1975.

Born in Fleetwood, Randall was a son of the late Elmer M. and Dorothy L. (Gift) Unger and was a 1963 graduate of Fleetwood Area High School. In his younger years, Randy worked in a local feed mill and served as a volunteer for the Reading Police Department. For most of his working career, Randy was employed as a shipping and receiving clerk for DSM Polymer Corporation, Reading, now Mitsubishi Chemical, for many years until his retirement in 2001.

Randy was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Molltown, where he was Consistory Treasurer for many years. Randall was also a member of the property committee, and outdoor service committee and involved with many pot-pie dinners. Randy was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing golf, going to car shows, attending farm sales and auctions, going out for breakfast, playing the lottery, watching television, and fixing and maintaining his home. Above all, Randy loved spending time with his family.

Along with his wife of 52 years, Alice, Randy is survived by his three children, Tina L. (Unger), wife of Lee E. Poole, Shillington, Todd L. Unger, Pine Grove, and Brian L., husband of Melissa J. (Dobrydnia) Unger, Kutztown; and two grandchildren, Maddox J. Unger and Scarlett R. Unger. Along with his parents, Randy was predeceased by an infant sister and his brother, Ronald Gift.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Randy's life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA with The Rev. Bruce E. Dalious officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's UCC Cemetery, Richmond Township (Molltown). Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
