Rachel C Helbert

Rachel C. Helbert, 88, formerly of Helbert Lane, Mertztown, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 in the Lutheran Home at Topton, Topton where she had been a resident since March 9, 2006. She was the wife of Ernest V. Helbert of Mertztown. They were married on December 25, 1936.

Born in Topton, PA she was the daughter of the late Adam M. and Annie E. (Christman) Reichert. She and her husband assisted their late son David with Helbert’s Answering Service, Mertztown, retiring in July 1997. She was a member of St. John’s UCC Church, Kutztown.

She is survived by Husband, Daughters, Rebecca M. wife of William Truitt, Alburtis, Brenda A. wife of Richard S. Rohrbach, Bally, Alice R. wife of Dennis D. Siegfried, Kutztown; Sons, Charles F. husband of Emma C. (Smith), Mertztown, Robert P. husband of Harriet E. (Moyer), Kutztown, Stanley R. husband of Kathy (O’Neil), Lyon Station; Step Sister, Cinderella (Shaeffer) widow of Harold Smoyer, Spring City, PA; Step Niece, Roberta (Kerchner) Deisher, Topton; 12 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 8 Step Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 Step Great Great Grandson. She was predeceased by Son, David E. in 1996.

Funeral Services are Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the Auditorium of the Lutheran Home at Topton, One South Home Avenue, Topton. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the auditorium.

The family requests contributions to St. John’s UCC Church, 257 W. Walnut Street, Kutztown, PA  19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
