Phyllis J. Stitzel

Phyllis J. (Manmiller) Stitzel, 86, of Kutztown (Richmond Township), passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026 in her residence. She was the widow of Lee F. Stitzel who died on September 16, 2008 and whom she was married to for 48 years.

Born in Reading, PA, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Robert D. and Elizabeth (Shuman) Manmiller and was a 1957 graduate of Fleetwood Area High School. Phyllis was employed as an Executive Secretary at Kutztown University for several years. She also was employed by The Fleetwood Area School District working as a Cafeteria Worker for 10 years.

Phyllis was a dedicated and faithful member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Richmond Township. She was the church secretary for 45 years, member and secretary of church council, member of the church choir, member of the Monday seniors group, and WELCA. Phyllis was also a dedicated hospice volunteer and enjoyed visiting with many individuals over the years.

Phyllis enjoyed playing BINGO, crocheting, reading, traveling, going to the casinos, bus trips, helping on the farm and rooting for the Phillies. Above all, Phyllis loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by a daughter Lori A. (Stitzel), wife of Allen Spatz of Dryville, Thomas L. Stitzel, Kutztown, and Todd D., husband of Tara (Roth) Stitzel of Kutztown; five grandchildren Christopher Spatz, Stephanie (Spatz) Graczyk, Brandon Stitzel, Alicia Stitzel and Gavin Krick; sisters, Rosalie (Manmiller), wife of Errol Moyer, Blandon, and Diana (Manmiller), widow of Gerald Fitzgerald, Kutztown; and brothers, Daniel, husband of Diane Manmiller, Fleetwood, and Dennis, husband of Ida Manmiller, Lyon Station. Along with her husband and parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen E. (Manmiller) and Jacob Reider.

The family will host a memorial service to celebrate and honor Phyllis's life will be held on February 28, 2026in Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, 340 Moselem Church Road, Kutztown, PA, with The Reverend Jane M. Kropa officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on February 28, 2026 starting at 9:30 am followed by the service at 10:00 am in the church.
