Phoebe A. (Grim) Dellicker, 93, of Kutztown, formerly of Jacksonville and Topton, died Sunday, January 17, 2016 in the residence of her daughter, Lise P. Hertzog.

Born in Bowers, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Minnie A. (Lichtenwalner) Grim. She graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1940. After one year at Kutztown College, Phoebe entered St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Reading. She graduated in 1944 as a Registered Nurse and married Willard C. Dellicker while he was home on leave during WWII. He passed away on May 12, 1987. Mrs. Dellicker was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton, where she taught Sunday School and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Phoebe worked as a private duty nurse and was one of the first nurses in the Infirmary at The Lutheran Home at Topton. She also volunteered her time at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, for 19 years, and worked as a clerk at the former Mertz's Jewelry Store, Topton and as a seamstress and clerk at the former Village Dress Shop, Schnecksville. Phoebe and Willard were instrumental in the founding of the Veterans Memorial Committee (VMC) and oversaw fundraising and construction of the VMC Swimming pool in Topton, where she also ran the concession stand, as a volunteer, for seven years. She also received the Pennsylvania National Guard Distinguished Service Medal Award for 43 consecutive years until year 2000. Phoebe was a member of various local civic organizations in the Kutztown and Topton communities.

She is survived by 2 Daughters, Lise P. (Dellicker), wife of Joseph L. Hertzog, Wyomissing and with whom she resided, and Tana L. (Dellicker), wife of Glenn C. Fegely, Russell, PA (Warren Co.); sons, Willard G., husband of Trudie L. (Klein) Dellicker, New Tripoli and Daniel G., husband of Sandra L. (Manmiller) Dellicker, Summit Hill, PA (Carbon Co.); Sister, Donna R. (Grim), husband of Herbert Lantz, New Smyrna Beach, FL; 9 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Dellicker was predeceased by 2 Brothers, William Grim and John Grim.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 4:00 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 S. Home Avenue, Topton, with long-time family friend, Reverend Bruce W. Potteiger officiating. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:00 PM in the church. Graveside services and interment will be private in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.

The family requests contributions be made in Phoebe's memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund, P. O. Box 37, Topton, PA  19562-0037. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
