Pearl J. Trexler

January 28, 1935 — July 9, 2018

Pearl J. (Meck) Trexler, 83, of Mertztown, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Franklin A. Trexler, who died on June 26, 2011. Born in Mertztown, Pearl was a daughter of the late Briden and Eula H. (Shoemaker) Meck. She was a lifetime and faithful member of Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mertztown, where she sang on the senior choir for many years and was an active volunteer. Pearl was a graduate of Kutztown Area High  School, class of 1952. She was employed as an Accountant by the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, for 30 years, until her retirement. Pearl was also a member of the Topton Senior Citizens.

In addition to her husband, Franklin, and her parents, Pearl was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Roth and Sara Ann Hafer; and two brothers, Glenroy Meck and Clarence Meck. She is survived by her 11 nieces and nephews: Alice Rahn, Luella Faustner, Dennis Meck, Allen Meck, Fay Sell, Dale Roth, Dean Roth, Michael Meck, Antoinette Markey, Andrew Hafer, and Thomas Hafer and their families.

A memorial service to celebrate Pearl's life will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown, PA, with Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman and Reverend Thomas P. Hafer officiating. Burial will follow in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. There will be no visitation.

The family requests contributions be made in Pearl's memory to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 117, Mertztown, PA  19539.
