Paul M. Bollinger, 86, of New Tripoli, formerly of Maxatawny Township, died September 12, 2008 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the widower of Marion S. (Lichtenwalner) Bollinger who died February 12, 1991.

Born in Lehighton, Carbon County, he was a son of the late Stephen and Charlotte M. (Hitner) Bollinger. He was a member of the U.C.C. congregation of Zion’s Union Church, Maxatawny. He was employed by the Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) of Berks County from 1948 to 1962. He worked as a laborer and tow motor operator at the former Red Cheek, Fleetwood, a truck driver at Adelphi Kitchens, Reading and Berks Products Corporation from 1968 to 1989; he also worked for Richard J. Mertz Landscaping, Kutztown and was a truck driver at the former Eastern Building Products, Kutztown until his retirement in 1991.

He is survived by Sons, Roger A. husband of Alice (Balthaser) Bollinger, Mertztown, Mark E. Bollinger, Orlando, Fla., Ernest L. husband of Elaine D. (Kistler) Bollinger, Denver, Lancaster County; Sister, Kathryn C. (Bollinger) widow of Albert Johnson, Schnecksville, Lehigh County; Brother, Delbert S. Bollinger, North Catasauqua, Northampton County. In addition, there are 7 Grandchildren, Amy L. (Bollinger) Parsons, Sarah J., Martha E., Christopher P., Lauren E., Meredith R. and Elliott K. Bollinger.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 10:30 AM, from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to the memorial fund of Zion’s Union Church, P.O. Box 100, Maxatawny 19538-0100 or American Cancer Society 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, 19605. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
