Paul Alan Lombardi, 73, of Macungie, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025 in Heather Glen Senior Living, Allentown. He was the husband of Bonnie L. (Peoples) Lombardi, whom he married on August 26, 1973.
Born in Elmont, NY, Paul was a son of the late Robert P. and Jean G. (Zehner) Lombardi. He was a 1969 graduate of Exeter Township Senior High School and University of Pennsylvania, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Biology. During his time at Exeter and UPenn, Paul was a member of their cross-country teams. Following his time at UPenn, Paul attended Temple University, where he received his Master's degree in Science. Paul was an educator for several years prior to becoming a Naturalist at Bear Creek Camp, Wilkes -Barre, PA, where together with his wife Bonnie, were very actively involved for 55 years. Following his employment at Bear Creek Camp, Paul once again worked as an educator in Mount Laurel, NJ. He then became a Graduate Gemologist and worked for Tiffany & Co., New York, NY, was the Head Gemologist for Birks, Canada, Perrywinkle's Fine Jewelry, Burlington, VT, and most recently, Bixler's Jewelers.
Paul was a long-time member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville, and was most recently a member of Christ (Mertz) Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. Paul was an avid runner and loved to read, especially non-fiction nature books.
Along with his wife of 51 years Bonnie, Paul is survived by his three children, Amy E. (Lombardi), wife of Michael Schrlau, Pittsford, NY, Nathan Z. Lombardi, partner of Rachel Wang Hoffman, New York, NY, and Amanda K. (Lombardi), wife of Adam Weber, Macungie, PA; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Jean, Jude Alan and Hazel Mae; and a brother, Robert P. Lombardi, Reading.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Paul's life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ (Mertz) Evangelical Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood, PA, with The Reverend Martin Milne officiating. There are no calling hours and burial will be held privately. Please come as you are, dressed comfortably as Paul would have appreciated.
