Paul P. Hadnagy, 84, formerly of Kutztown, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He was the husband of Muriel R. (McNally) Hadnagy, whom he married on September 15, 1962.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Paul was a son of the late Paul H. Hadnagy and Albina P. (Baroletti) Hadnagy and was a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology, where he received his associate degree in electrical engineering. Paul was a Master Electrician, working for his family's business, Barto Electric, an electrical contracting company in Amityville, NY, from age 18 until 1995. He then worked as a Maintenance Foreman for a computer chip manufacturer in Warrenton, VA for several years.
Paul honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown, PA, and was very involved with the maintenance of the parish. He was a member of St. Thomas Moore Knights of Columbus Council 4379, enjoyed gardening and was a very handy man who could fix just about anything. Paul also enjoyed visiting many hardware stores.
Along with his wife of 62 years, Muriel, Paul is survived by his three children, Richard Hadnagy, husband of April D. (Worley) Hadnagy, Wicksburg, AL, Teresa H. (Hadnagy) Palmisano, wife of Anthony Palmisano, Towaco, NJ, and Susan (Hadnagy) Lopez, wife of Greg Lopez, Shartlesville, PA; brother, Peter Hadnagy, Long Island, NY; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brothers Charles Hadnagy in 2015 and Andrew Hadnagy in 1988.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, PA with The Reverend John C. Maria as Celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. There will be no viewing on Tuesday.
