Paul Gangawere

Paul Gangawere, 94, formerly of Longswamp Township, died Friday, June 13, 2014, in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the widower of Ellen V. (Sunday) Gangawere, who died February 22, 2004 .

Born in Maxatawny Township , he was a son of the late Arthur and Verna (Rothermel) Gangawere. Mr. Gangawere was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Dryville, where he served as secretary of their Sunday school for several years. He was a self employed dairy farmer for 30 years, retiring in 1980 .

He is survived by Daughters, Doris J. (Gangawere), wife of Gary S. Williams, Mertztown, Jane L. (Gangawere), wife of  Arlan C. Krick, Lenhartsville; Son, Richard A., widower of Julie K. (Angstadt) Gangawere, Mertztown . There are also 7 Grandchildren, Kurt G. Williams, Kelly J. (Williams) Harpel, Lynn A. Krick, Lisa J. (Krick) Rice, Todd A. Krick, Crystal K. (Gangawere) Flamisch and Andrew P. Gangawere. There are also 11 Great Grandchildren, Jamie, Klint, Emily, Alex, Morgan, Megan, Wesley, Brody, Hunter, Hannah and Courtney. He was predeceased by a Step-sister, Ruth M. DeLong in 2008.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM from Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood (Dryville), with Reverend Cheryl F. Meinschein officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the church .
