Paul E. DeLong, Sr., 56, of Barclay Street, Mertztown, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Linda J. (Stern) DeLong. They were married on April 3, 1976.
Born in Longswamp Township he was the son of the late John F. and Vivian V. (Smith) DeLong. He was currently a finish sander for over five years at The Cutting Edge, Bally. Prior to that he worked in quality control for United Refrigeration, Inc., Philadelphia, for five years; and, he was an assembler and in quality control for the former Bally Case and Cooler, Bally, for 26 years. He was a Certified Universal Refrigeration Technician. He was a 1968 graduate of Emmaus High School. He was past president and coach of the Topton Girls Softball League from 1986 to 1989.
He is survived by Wife, Son, Paul E., Jr. husband of Colleen M. (Rhoads) DeLong, Allentown; Daughters, Andrea L. wife of Peter A. Moyer, Mertztown, Buffy M. George, Blandon; Brother, James W. DeLong, Mertztown; Grandsons, Brandon P. George, Justin L. George, Zackary D. Moyer and Chase A. Moyer.
Funeral Services are Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 1:00 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Friends may call Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
