Paul C. Hilbert, 89, of Hereford Township, Berks County, died Monday, August 8, 2011 in his residence. He was the husband of Florence M. (Reinert) Hilbert. They were married on March 13, 1944.
Born in Fleetwood, he was a son of the late Charles and Erma (Gaugler) Hilbert. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church, Trexlertown. Mr. Hilbert honorably served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was an electrician at Bethlehem Steel, Bethlehem, for 40 years retiring in 1981. He also was a self employed crop farmer in Hereford Township from 1951 to 1987.
He is survived by Wife; Son, Ronald G. husband of Ellen (Carson) Hilbert, Macungie; Daughter, Lanette A. (Hilbert) wife of Lester S. Kemmerer, Hereford Township; Grandchildren, Jessica C. (Hilbert) wife of Edward Zyak, Cory L. Kemmerer, Devin T. Kemmerer, Jacy J. (Kemmerer) Harkins, Matthew R. Hilbert; and Great Grandchildren, Madison J. Harkins, Samuel P. Zyak, Jaden B. Harkins, Kayla A. Harkins and Emma J. Zyak.
Funeral Services are Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 10:30 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Fleetwood, with Military Honors provided by the Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion Honor Guard, Topton. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
The family requests contributions to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders, 237 Court Street, Reading, PA 19601-3924. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
