Paul B Follweiler

May 29, 1932 — November 17, 2007

Paul B. Follweiler, 75, of Kutztown, passed into life eternal, Saturday, November 17, 2007, in the loving presence of his companion of many years, Dolores J. Eastland, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Paul’s deep faith in God kept him in a positive attitude until a short time ago when it was inevitable the cancer was overcoming his body.

Paul was a faithful member of Saint Paul’s UCC Church, Fleetwood. Paul was an honest, hard-working person, raised in a farming family, son of the late Elwood W. and Helen Sittler Follweiler of Hamburg. In the late 50’s he decided to leave the family farms, which were located in the Lehigh Valley. Paul entered the US Army, stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas. Following discharge Paul went into the trucking industry retiring after 37 years, and then he worked part-time for Saucony Cross, Wilson Manor and Saucony Meadows, Kutztown, indoor and outdoor maintenance, retiring due to failing health in January, 2007. Paul and companion Dolores built their home in Kutztown and have enjoyed their blessings given to them each day.

Paul is also survived by his daughter Cindy J. Follweiler, his mother, Helen S. (Sittler) Follweiler, Hamburg; Sister, Faye A. wife of Robert George, Breinigsville; Brother, William of Slatington. There are surviving nieces and nephews, and cousins. Paul had a very close relationship with cousin Carl Sittler of Chelmsford, Mass; and niece Lynn and her husband David as well as their two children Cory and Jody – they had a special place in his heart; also our cat “Shalom.” He was predeceased by a daughter, Paula L. Follweiler who died February 28, 2006.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Saint Paul’s UCC Church, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood, as well as a luncheon following the memorial service in the Social Hall of the Church for a time of fellowship. Private inurnment in Saint Paul’s Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to Saint Paul’s UCC Church Memorial Fund, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood, 19522 or Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11 th Street, Reading, 19604. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
