Patrick Anthony Florkowski

Patrick A. Florkowski, 23, of Kempton, died Friday, October 16, 2026, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, as the result of complications of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Born in West Reading Patrick was a son of Richard A. and Jessica A. (LaFaver) Florkowski, Kempton.

Patrick was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 2021. He continued his education at Purdue University, earning an Associate's Degree in Information Technology.

Patrick volunteered his time and talents with Kempton Fire Company and at Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson where he was the web master for the Deer Lake Harley Owner's Group. A sports enthusiast, Patrick's teams were Denver Broncos, Denver Avalanche, and Denver Nuggets. In 2016, through Make-A-Wish Foundation, Patrick was granted his wish to go to the Mile-High Stadium and meet the Denver Broncos Team in person, which brought him great joy.

An accomplished Gamer, Patrick enjoyed PlayStation games online with his friends. As a child, Patrick enjoyed spending his days at his friend's dairy farm, going fishing, and spending time outdoors with friends. Patrick enjoyed riding in his sidecar on the motorcycle and attending motorcycle events, especially Ride-For-Life. Patrick was an animal lover, and enjoyed friending any dog he would see.

Patrick was a world traveler and avid cruiser having been to multiple tropical islands and many places in Europe.

In addition to his parents, Patrick is survived by his brother, Kyle J. Florkowski, Kempton. Other survivors include Paternal Grandparents: John M. and Margaret A. "Peg" (Mencarini) Florkowski, New Fairfield, CT; Maternal Grandparents: James C., Jr., and Bettie A. (Wartzenluft) Hirko, Topton, and Gary L. LaFaver, Hamburg, PA. Patrick was also loved by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services to honor and celebrate Patrick's life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Celebrant Andrew J. Brett, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
