Owen J. Moll, 84, of Mary Ann Drive, Longswamp Township, Berks County, died Friday, July 6, 2007, in his home. He was the widower of Betty L. (Laudenslager) Moll who died January 24, 1998.

Born in Hereford Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late John and Gertie (Benfield) Moll. He was a 1941 graduate of Emmaus High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in physics from Moravian College, Bethlehem. He was an electrical engineer for 25 years at the former Johnsville Naval Air Development Center, Warminster, Bucks County, until his retirement in 1977. He was a US Army veteran of WWII serving as a Sergeant with the Headquarters Battery 35 th Division Artillery. He was a member and past president of the Longswamp Lions Club, Mertztown. He served as District Governor of the Pennsylvania Lions from 1977-1978. He was a member of the Reformed Congregation of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis. He served as Treasurer of the Reformed Church, and was a past president of the Union Church Council. He was active in the Boy and Girl Scouts of America. He was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels, and the Lutheran Home at Topton.

He is survived by Sons, Gary L. Moll, Macungie, James A. Moll, Tamaqua, David A. Moll, Vera Cruz; Granddaughter, Theresa A. Moll. He is also survived by Brother, Ralph Moll, Seisholtzville. Mr. Moll was predeceased by Son, Dale O. Moll in 1954 and Daughter, Diane L. Moll, in 1966.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, July 10, 2007, 10:30 AM from Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis. Interment in Huff’s Church Union Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton, and Monday, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the church.

Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to Huff’s Union Church Capital Improvement Fund, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, 18011. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
