Oscar G. Muth, Jr., 83, of Longswamp Township, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, in the Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of Catherine R. (Adam) Muth, whom he married May 17, 1952.
Born in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, he was a son of the late Oscar P., Sr. and Mamie (Wright) Muth. Mr. Muth was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Kutztown. He was employed as a laborer by the former Tyler Pipe, Macungie for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to that, he worked for the Boyertown Foundry for three years. He, along with his wife, Cass, were self-employed farmers in Longswamp Township for many years. Mr. Muth was a member of the Antique and Small Engine Club, Bowers. He loved farming, tractors and toying around with small engines.
He is survived by Wife; Daughter, Cathleen R. (Muth), wife of Larry Wisser, Lynnville; Son, Elton P. "Juppy", husband of Nancy L. Muth, Alburtis; Sister, Esther (Muth), widow of Raymond A. Yergey, Sr., Topton; Brothers, Warren, widower of Kathleen Muth, Mertztown, Albert, husband of Donna Muth, Topton. There are also 6 Grandchildren, Jason Wisser, Jeremy Wisser, Elizabeth Bausher, Justin Wisser, Jacob Wisser and Megan Muth; and 5 Great Grandchildren, Olivia, Biana, Bryan, Jr., Logan and Little Jeremy. He was predeceased by Sisters, Dorothy (Muth) Brensinger and Pauline (Muth) Dry; and a Brother, Clifford Muth.
Funeral Services are Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will follow in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
The family requests contributions be made to Zion Moselem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 340 Moselem Church Road, Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
