Orpha K Martin

Orpha K. Martin, 71, of Kutztown, passed away peacefully Friday, August 9, 2013 at her home, after a 2 year and 7 month battle with cancer. Orpha was the wife of Harvey Z. Martin. They were married November 16, 1963 and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

Born April 14, 1942, in Brecknock Township, Lancaster Co. to the late Rufus H. and Susie B. (Kurtz) Musser, Orpha was a homemaker and a member of Walnuttown Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

She is survived by Husband, 6 Daughters, Susan M. wife of David L. Hoover, Charles City, IA, Mary Ann wife of Kenneth Horst, Goshen IN, Edith M. wife of Allen Wenger, Manheim. PA, Sharon M. wife of Keith Martin, Greenwood, WI, Jean M. wife of Curtis Garman, Manheim, PA, Jane M. wife of Gerald Martin, Fredericksburg, PA; 7 Sons, Ernie M. husband of Louetta (Snyder) Martin, Fleetwood, Marvin M. husband of Ruth (Leinbach) Martin, Shoemakersville, Harvey M. husband of Marlene (Zimmerman) Martin, Kutztown, Cleon M. husband of Martha (Hoover) Martin, Beaver Springs, PA, Clifford M. husband of Charlene (Zimmerman) Martin, Mohrsville, Arthur M. husband of Rosene (Weaver) Martin, Fleetwood and Matthew M. husband of Eileen Brubacker Martin, Carlisle, PA. There are 47 Grandchildren. Other survivors include a Sister, Lena (Musser) widow of the late Lester Z. Martin, Myerstown; 2 Brothers, Rufus K. husband of Mary Ella (Hoover) Musser, Ephrata, PA and Alvin K. husband of Alta (Martin) Musser, Memphis, MO. She was preceded in death by Sisters, Verna K. (Musser) High, Emma K. (Musser) Wise and Phoebe K. (Musser) Zeiset.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 8:45 AM in her late residence with services continuing in Walnuttown Mennonite Church, Pleasant Hill Road, Fleetwood at 9:30 AM. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the church.
