Norman M. Spatz, 84, of East Walnut Street, Kutztown, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, in the Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Twp., where he was a patient since March 20, 2005. He was married to Anna M. (Dietrich) Spatz, they were married November 27, 1947.
Born in Centerport, Berks County, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence L. and the late Amy R. (Burkey) Spatz. He was employed for 22 years as a machine operator for Rockwell International, Wyomissing from 1961 until his retirement in 1983. He then worked for Lanco Mall, Kutztown, in the maintenance department for over 10 years. In addition, he worked for Gary N. Shukraft Flower Shop, Kutztown, and his successor, Jackie & Daughter Flower Shop, Kutztown, from 1981until 2000. He was a member of the Kutztown Lions Club, Kutztown, for 44 years. He was a Melvin Jones award recipient in 1996. He was a member of Huguenot Lodge #377, F. & A.M., Kutztown. He was a Consistory Member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Reading, since 1980. He was also a member of the High Twelve. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Brenda K. (Spatz) wife of Dennis A. Shueman, Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.), Norann L. (Spatz) wife of Dean Warmkessel, Moselem Springs (Richmond Twp.), Randy Sue (Spatz) wife of Warren C. Kline, Fleetwood; Brother, Wilmer Spatz, Reading; 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandson.
Funeral Services are Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment with military honors in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Tuesday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Masonic services by Huguenot Lodge #377 Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
