Norman Barlet, Jr., 84, of Mertztown, died Thursday, September 3, 2009 in his residence. He was the widower of Ruth A. (Bennicoff) Barlet who died May 21, 2008.
Born in Richmond Twp., he was a son of the late Norman, Sr. and Lillie (Heiter) Barlet. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He was a machinist at Alpo Foods, Inc., Allentown until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Ray Master American Legion, Post #217, Topton, and the Pikeville Sportsman Association.
He is survived by Sons, Bruce N., husband of Linda K. (Holtery) Barlet, Mertztown, Gregory L, husband of Doreen K. (Bales), Alburtis, and Don K., husband of Tina L. (Fegley) Barlet, Mertztown and Sister, Betty Jean (Barlet) Neely, Covington, CT. There are also 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 2:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown with military honors by the Topton American Legion Post #217. Friends may call Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
