Mr. Nicholas G. Bauer

Nicolas G. "Nick" "Gator" Bauer, Jr., 61, of Allentown, died suddenly on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in his residence. Born in Reading, Nick was a son of the late Nicholas G. Bauer, Sr., and Lorraine A. (Rockowicz) Bauer.

Nick was a graduate of Exeter Township Senior High School and Penn State University where he received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He worked as an electrical engineer and maintenance repairman at various companies throughout his career; Exide and General Battery to name a few.

Gator enjoyed calling BINGO, playing cards and board games, and telling the best and most detailed stories. He was also a very knowledgeable person and knew a little bit about everything. Gator also was a member of the former Reading Jaycees where he would portray Santa Claus at Christmas time taking gifts to children in need in the Reading area.

Nick is survived by his wife, Deborah Bauer, Pittsburgh; two children, Ashley P. (Bauer), wife of Andrew Duna, Mohnton, and Timothy A. Bauer, Birdsboro; two grandchildren; step-sons, TJ, Wesling and Glenn; two sisters, Linda M. (Bauer) Phile, and her husband, George, Aiken, SC, and Pamela J. (Bauer), widow of Lloyd C. Showalter, Jr., Topton; brothers, George A. Bauer, and his wife, Brenda, Mohnton, and Steven M. Bauer, and his wife, Melissa, Orwigsburg; half-sister, Nicole Bauer, Birdsboro; step-mother, Michele M. (Moffett) Bauer, Hamburg; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

The family will host a Celebration of Life meal in the future.
