Nevin C Hill

Nevin C. Hill, 87, of Kutztown, died Monday, September 12, 2011 in his residence. He was the widower of Eleanor M. (Kunkle) Hill, who died June 20, 1999.

Born in Richmond Township, Berks Co., he was a son of the late Milton O. and Mabel (Kohler) Hill. He was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where he was a former council member, and past president of Sunday school. Nevin was a 1943 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. He was employed as an industrial truck operator at the former Dana Corporation, Reading, for 38 years, retiring in 1984. Nevin was a charter member of the Virginville Lions Club, where he served as president in the 1970’s. He was a past president of the parent-teacher association of Richmond Elementary School in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Nevin was a member of Virginville Grange for over 50 years. He was the membership chairman of the Pennsylvania State Grange, Harrisburg, in the late 1970’s. Nevin was the current vice president and a past president of the Berks County Cemetery Board. He was a past treasurer of Zion Moselem Church Cemetery Board. He was a past zoning officer of Richmond Township. Nevin also enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by Daughters, Sandra P. Hill, with whom he resided, Jane L. (Hill) wife of Harold C. Reppert, Hamburg, Doris M. (Hill) wife of Neil E. Hoffman, Hamburg. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren, Nancy L. (Hoffman) wife of Jason Dusko, Andrew N. husband of Julia (Fritz) Hoffman, Shelley L. (Reppert) wife of Ryan J. Fayewicz, Daniel A. Reppert, and 2 Great Grandchildren, Justin E. Dusko and Arabel J. Hoffman. He was predeceased by a Brother, Ernest W. Hill.

Funeral Services are Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will be in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to Zion Moselem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 340 Moselem Church Road, Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
