Neal L Merkel

Neal L. Merkel, 54, of Kutztown, died on Thursday, September 15, 2016 in ManorCare Health Services, Allentown.

Born in Reading, Neal was a son of the late Ernest H. and Sarah J. Merkel. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Krumsville. Neal enjoyed building model cars, tinkering with electronic devices and riding his bike. He also enjoyed going to concerts and local fairs.

He is survived by a Sister, Barbara A. (Merkel), wife of Charlie R. Katzaman, and a Brother, Albert T. Merkel, both of Kutztown; Niece, Marina Katzaman; and Nephews, Brant and Owen Katzaman. Neal was predeceased by his Parents, Paternal Grandparents, Harvey A. and Edna L. (Herring) Merkel; and Maternal Grandparents, Ralph C. and Ella E. (Keiter) Phillips.

Graveside services and inurnment will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown, with Reverend Dr. Dennis S. Ritter officiating. There will be no calling hours.
