Nancy L. (Hess) Lord, 72, of Longswamp Township, died Monday, November 10, 2014 in Saint Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. She was the wife of Richard H. Lord. They were married September 16, 1961 .

Born in Longswamp Township , she was a daughter of the late Earl J. and Myrle E. (Rudolf) Hess. Mrs. Lord was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and watching birds .

She is survived by Husband; Children, Boyd H. Lord, Lincoln, DE, Brenda L. (Lord) Smith, Albrightsville, Carbon, Co., Cheryl A. (Lord) Swavely, Stony Run; Sisters, Doris (Hess), widow of Joseph Benfield, Bechtelsville, Myrle (Hess), widow of Harry Batdorf, Pottstown, June (Hess), wife of Steven Reed, Oley, Terry (Hess) Taylor, Birdsboro, Dawn (Hess), wife of George Hoffman, Avoca, NY; Brothers, Richard Hess, Maryland, Lee Hess, Alburtis; 5 Grandchildren, Andrew R. Smith, Amanda M. (Smith), wife of Elijah Heiter, Allyson L. Smith, Austin R. Swavely, Alexis B. Swavely; and 2 Great Grandchildren, Carli B. Smith and Dana M. Heiter; and her four-legged-companion, Lucas . She was predeceased by a Sister, Delores (Hess) Scrip; and Brothers, Earl R. Hess and James E. Hess.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family .
