Mrs. Myrtle Y. Lorish

December 21, 1932 — February 14, 2021

Myrtle Y. (Gilbert) Lorish, 88, of Wheaton, IL, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Anthology Senior Living in Wheaton, IL.

Myrtle was born on December 21, 1932 in New Berlinville, PA, a daughter of the late Elmer and Alma (Yoder) Gilbert. She attended Boyertown Area Senior High School and worked 35 or more years at Federal Mogul as a line worker and many years as a treasurer of the union, retiring at the age of 70.

Myrtle was married to Marvin L. "Beeb" Lorish in 1952 at Zion's Evangelical Brethren Church, New Berlinville, PA, until his passing. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Myrtle was active in the Women's club and served as a Girl Scout leader. Family was very important to her and she made fun, loving, cherished memories for them. She loved to cook, especially bake. Her pets were very important to her especially her cats, at one point in time, she had five of them.

Her interests included caring for her beautiful flower gardens, attending auctions, taking bus trips with her friends, and driving her blue 428 CI Ford Torino really fast. She was always up for a good Bloody Mary. Her laugh and outgoing attitude will be missed by all of us.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Lorish, and his wife Cynthia of Reading, PA, and Mitchell Lorish, and his wife Jenny of Colorado Springs, CO; and two grandsons, Mathew and Thomas.

Myrtle is also survived by her brother and sister-in-laws, Paul (Vivian) Lorish, Raymond (Linda) Lorish, Sidney (Joyce) Lorish, Marguerite (Alan) Hubert, Joan Egolf, Diane (Bumsy) Gouldner and Miriam Lorish, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Myrtle was predeceased by her husband, Marvin "Beeb"; her parents, Elmer and Alma; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Clara Lorish; her sisters, Mabel (Norman) Moser and Gertie (Stanley) Yoder and brother-in-law, Martin Lorish.

Myrtle will be laid to rest next to her husband Marvin at Huffs Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis, PA. Services will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
