Myrtle B. (Herman) Dietrich, 106, formerly of Kutztown, died Sunday, September 3, 2023, in The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Township, where she has been a resident since 2018. Myrtle was the widow of Lawrence H. Dietrich, who died July 22, 1980. Born in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, Myrtle was a daughter of the late Herbert P. and Mamie A. (Kuhns) Herman. She was a member of Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
Mrs. Dietrich was employed as a top stitcher at the former Beckerman's Shoe Company. She enjoyed watching television, especially her beloved Philadelphia Phillies.
Myrtle is survived by a son, Michael G., husband of Judith A. (Noll) Dietrich, Fleetwood; a grandson, Michael R., husband of Lori (Thomas) Dietrich; and three great grandchildren: John T. Dietrich; Abigail E. Dietrich; and Anneliese M. Dietrich. In addition to her husband and parents, Myrtle was predeceased by 13 siblings.
A Funeral Service to celebrate and honor Myrtle's life will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend James Schlegel, officiating. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
It was Myrtle's wish, that contributions be considered in her memory to Saint John's Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown, PA 19530.
