Myles G. Angstadt, 70, formerly of Rockland Township, died Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Schuylkill Center Nursing Home, Pottsville. Born in Allentown, Myles was a son of the late Dallas A. and Anna L. (Schwoyer) Angstadt. Myles was a former member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Rockland Township, prior to its closing.
Myles was a graduate of Brandywine Heights Area High School, Class of 1974. Myles was employed as a Truck Driver for over 31 years in livestock transportation. He worked for Rhoads Brothers, Mark Fredericks, was self-employed for a period of time and also worked for Honey Locust Farm, where he then transitioned to a dispatcher for an additional 13 years, until his retirement.
Myles was a former member of the Rockland Rod & Gun Club, where he enjoyed participating in competative shooting; Pioneer Grange, Topton; and was a collector of Ross Trucks. He was a former crew member of the VanDuran Racing Team at Grandview Speedway. Myles had a very close relationship with many of the area Mennonite Community members, which he appreciated and cherished. Myles enjoyed taking his nephews each summer on long distance truck trips, somthings his nephews looked forward to each year.
Myles is survived by his sisters, Connie M. (Angstadt), wife of Herman A. Manbeck, Womelsdorf; Holly A. (Angstadt), wife of Glenn D. Allen, Rockland Township; a brother-in-law, Richard A. widower of predeceased sister, Julie K. (Angstadt) Gangawere, Longswamp Township; and a brother, Clay P., widower of Beth A. (Huff) Angstadt, Rockland Township. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Myles' life will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Minister Emory W. Burkholder, officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery of Bowers. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
