Miriam Day

Miriam M. (Weber) Day, 95, of Topton, formerly of Lower Macungie Township, died Monday, May 19, 2025, in the Buehrle Center on the Campus of the The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Township, where she was a resident three years. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Stella (Glose) Weber. She was the widow of Sterling S. Day, Sr., who died June 24, 1984.

Mrs. Day was employed as a sewing machine operator, last working for Hapco Corp., Emmaus until her retirement in 2017, working until age 88. She also worked at the former Saucony Shoe Company; Deisher Knitting Mill; and Benham Knitwear.

She was a member of the Kutztown Grange, and had received the honor of Granger of the Year.

Miriam is survived by her sons, Sterling S. Jr., husband of Cynthia (Jesse) Day, Orefield; and Eric P., husband of Theresa (Murphy) Day, Kutztown. There is also a sister, Patricia (Weber), wife of Carl Meck, Topton; grandchildren, Joshua, husband of Stacey (Conway) Day, Brian Day, and Jodi (Day) wife of Andrew Povenski; great grandchildren, Jaiden, Makenna, Levi, and Leland Day.

In addition to her husband Sterling, and parents, Miriam was pre-deceased by sons, Robert F. Day, who died February 11, 2024, William Carl Day, who died in infancy; a grandson, Ryan Day, who died November 26, 2023, and siblings, Carl, Edward, Arthur "Schnook", and Albert "Pop-Eye" Weber; and Margaret "Peggy" (Weber) Geroge.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Miriam's life will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in Dunkel's Church Cemetery, 751 Dunkel's Church Road, Kutztown, with the Reverend Benjamin Brown, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. There are no public viewing or calling hours.
