Miriam A. (Haas) Warmkessel, 86, of New Tripoli, formerly of Lenhartsville, died Monday, April 1, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Warren H. Warmkessel who died July 27, 2006.

Born in Oley, she was a daughter of the late William S. and Olivia S. (Moyer) Haas. Mrs. Warmkessel was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of Zions Union Church, Maxatawny. She was employed as an assembler by East Penn Manufacturing, Lyon Station, from 1969 to 1989. Prior to that, she was employed by the former Saucony Shoe Company, Kutztown, for five years.

She is survived by Daughter, Linda L. (Warmkessel), wife of Philip G. Menges, York Springs, Adams County; Sons, Richard P., husband of Jane A. (Kunkel) Warmkessel and Randy L., husband of Karen M. (Krick) Warmkessel, both of Mertztown; Sister Edith L. (Haas), wife of Joseph Zajac, Mertztown; There are also 7 Grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey R., husband of Gillian V. (Deresh) Warmkessel, Savannah, GA, Korie J. (Warmkessel), wife of Stephen P. Talian, Harrisburg, Sheila L. Dietrich, companion of Janice L. Attig, Abbottstown, Adams County, Pamela J. (Dietrich), wife of Samuel L. Fisher, Coatesville, Chester County, Jeremiah R., husband of Joyce S. (Tietsworth) Jones, Dillsburg, York County, Tara M. (Warmkessel), wife of Ronald R. Berger, Kutztown, Alex M. Warmkessel, Mertztown; 9 Great Grandchildren; and she was awaiting the birth of her tenth great grandchild in June. She was predeceased by Sisters, Myrtle Haas and Helen (Haas) Warmkessel, Brothers, Irvin Haas, Woodrow B. Haas and Herbert B. Haas.

Funeral Services are Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will follow in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to Zions Union Church Building Fund, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
