Minnie M Schlenker

Minnie M. (Schofer) Schlenker, 96, of Topton, died on Thursday, July 28, 2016 in The Lutheran Home at Topton.

Born in Topton, Minnie was a daughter of the late Andrew C. Schofer and Lillie M. (Dierolf) Teter-Schofer. Ms. Schlenker was a member of Zion's Union Church, Maxatawny. She worked as a cleaning lady at the former J.J. Schofer & Son Furniture, and for the former General Seating and Sash, both of Topton. She also worked as a waitress at Lyons Fire Company for several years and at the former Topton Rug Mill.

She is survived by a Nephew, Lawrence D. Werst, Topton; Nieces, Betty Jane Shalter, Greenwood, IN, and Shirley Jackson, Wyomissing; and several cousins. Minnie was predeceased by her Parents, a Brother, Frank Dierolf in 1985; a Sister, Mamie A. Werst in 1983; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 10:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Jeffrey J. Butz officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Kutztown (Maxatawny.) Relatives and friends may call on Sunday evening, July 31, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM and again on Monday morning from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made in Minnie's memory to Zion's Union Church Memorial Fund, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, PA  19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
