Michael W. Krick, 66, of Topton, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in the inpatient hospice unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Doris E. (Bortz) Krick, whom he married October 21, 1967 .
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Walter R. and Dorothea E. (Sechler) Krick. He was a member of Saint Peter's United Church of Christ, Topton, where he was a former president of the church council and also sang on the choir. Mr. Krick was a 1966 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School. Mr. Krick served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Trexlertown, for 37 1/2 years, retiring in 2012, first working as a field service repair technician, and later as a senior service representative. Prior to that, he worked as a refrigeration mechanic at the former Bally Case and Cooler, Bally, from 1970 to 1974. Mr. Krick served as a member of the Topton Borough Council from 1986 until 2000; and also served on the Northeastern Berks Regional Police Commission from 1991 to 2000. He is a past member of the former Topton Jaycees, and a member of Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton. Mike was an avid golfer; and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by Wife; Son, Scott M., husband of Michelle D. (Lehman) Krick, Chesapeake, VA; Daughter, Rebecca A. (Krick), wife of Brian K. Frederick, Alburtis. There are also 3 Granddaughters, Mackenzie and Madison Krick, and Morgan Frederick. He was predeceased by a Brother, Ricky Lee Krick on September 8, 2014; and a Sister, Maxine Krick .
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Saint Peter's United Church of Christ, 122 W. Franklin Street, Topton, with Reverend Roger M. Ulrich officiating. Inurnment, with military honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Honor Guard, Topton, and Dover Air Force Base Honor Guard, Dover, DE; will follow in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Relatives and friends may call Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the church .
