Michael P. Phillips, 83, of Rockland Township, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in the inpatient hospice unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Florence M. (Tustin) Phillips. They were married August 30, 1952.
Born in Conshohocken, he was a son of the late Michael A. and Anna (Prosock) Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a member of Saint Marys Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown. Michael was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a 1946 graduate of Collegeville-Trappe Joint Junior Senior Consolidated High School. He worked over 20 years as a tire builder for B.F. Goodrich Tire Company at its former Montgomery County location.
In addition to his Wife of 59 years, Mr. Phillips is survived by Sons, Michael P., Jr., husband of Velda Phillips, Fort Thompson, SD and Timothy M. husband of Stephanie A. (Sutton) Phillips, Mertztown; Daughters, Susan M. (Phillips) Geist-Bailey wife of William C. Bailey, Westfield, Tioga County and Eileen B. (Phillips) widow of Gregory A. Geist, Lawrenceville, Tioga County. Other survivors include a Sister, Alice D. Phillips, Bellingham, Washington and a Brother, Thomas J. Phillips, Charlow, Montana. There are also 10 Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 16, 2012 at 9:45 AM from Saint Marys Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, 19530. Inurnment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County. Friends may call from 8:45 to 9:45 AM in the church.
