Michael Domenic Nusca, 20, whose boundless energy and kindness reverberated across the Kutztown University campus, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Thursday, March 18, 2010 on Kutztown Road near the university.
Born Abington, Penn., he was a son of Esty C. Nusca of Dresher and Donna M. (Notarianni) Nusca of Horsham. A junior who majored in speech communications, Michael was known for his positive outlook and enthusiasm and was always ready with a smile or hug. Michael blossomed into a natural leader at the university, and was a mentor and friend to many classmates. He was a founding father of the schools chapter of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, a student staff coordinator and a member of the CONNECTIONS program, which helps new students become a part of the university community. Michael was a certified lifeguard and swim instructor at the YMCA in Ambler, Penn. He was a 2007 graduate of Upper Dublin High School in Fort Washington. In death, Michael continues his giving spirit as an organ donor through the Gift of Life program.
He is survived by Parents; Brothers, Andrew J. Nusca, a journalist in New York City, and Steven M. Nusca, a graduate student at West Chester University; Sister, Angela N. Nusca, a student at West Chester University.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Schaeffer Auditorium on the Kutztown University campus, 15200 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, Penn. with Rev. Keith K. Rohrbach officiating. Inurnment is private at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Schaeffer Auditorium.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Michael D. Nusca Memorial Fund, c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
