Menno M Burkholder

Menno M. Burkholder, 83, of Richmond Township, Berks County, PA died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Ruth W. (Horning) Burkholder who died on June 29, 2009.

Born in Earl Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Paul Z. and Annie B. (Martin) Burkholder. He was a self employed farmer and carpenter in Richmond Township from 1950 to 1980. He was a member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites and attended Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Fleetwood.

He is survived by Daughters, Esther H. wife of Eli M. Martin, Greenwich, Ohio, Anna Mary H. wife of Leon B. Shirk, Shiloh, Ohio, Lavina H. Burkholder, Fleetwood, Ruth Etta H. wife of Leroy Z. Nolt, Fleetwood; Sons, Samuel H. husband of Edna Z. (Nolt) Burkholder and Rufus H. husband of Ida B. (Nolt) Burkholder, both of Fleetwood, Menno H. Burkholder, Jr., Shiloh, Ohio; Sisters, Lizzie M. (Burkholder) wife of Weaver W. Leid, Ephrata, Maria M. Burkholder, Rushville, NY, Ada M. (Burkholder) wife of Aaron M. Zimmerman, Dundee, NY, Suzanna M. (Burkholder) wife of Benjamin Z. Shirk, Pen Yan, NY; Brothers, George M. widower of Elizabeth H. (Gehman) Burkholder, Cumberland County, Paul M. husband of Elizabeth H. (Stauffer) Burkholder, Fleetwood, Jonas M. husband of Bertha S. (Zimmerman) Burkholder, Rushville, NY; 37 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by Sisters, Minnie M. (Burkholder) late wife of Raymond S. Hoover, Kutztown, Annie M. Burkholder; Brothers, Isaac M. Burkholder, Ezra M. Burkholder and 2 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Monday, February 21, 2011at 9:00 AM from the Burkholder’s residence at 2670 Moselem Springs Road, Fleetwood with services continuing at Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Fleetwood. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, February 20th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at his late residence. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
