Max J Bleiler

Max J. Bleiler, 94, formerly of Mertztown, died Monday, April 19, 2010 in the Sunrise Assisted Living, Allentown. He was husband of the late Kathryn M. (Fenstermacher) Bleiler who died on September 11, 1999.

Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late John and Minnie (Fenstermacher) Bleiler. He was lovingly raised by Harvey and Meda Meck. He was a member of the Longswamp United Church of Christ, Mertztown, where he was a member of the consistory and became an Elder Emeritus in October of 2009. He was a railroad engineer at the former Reading Company, then Conrail, in Allentown and Reading for 38 years retiring in 1979.

He is survived by Sons, Max G. husband of Lynne F. (Hicks) Bleiler, Fleetwood, David C. husband of Cheryl A. (Muthard) Bleiler, Kutztown; Sister, Jane I. (Bleiler) Geisinger, Barto; Brothers, Donald W. husband of Betty (Wertman) Bleiler, Woodrow W. husband of Eleanor (Wertman) Bleiler and LeRoy E. husband of Elinor (Hermansader) Bleiler, all of Mertztown; Grandchildren, Ellen Connolly, Max J. Bleiler, Barbara Ludwig, Kathy Klokis, Amy Werner, Susan Willis, Brett Bleiler; 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson. He was predeceased by Son, Wesley J. Bleiler and Brothers, George, John and Franklin Bleiler.

Funeral Services are Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Saturday from 12:00 to1:00 PM.
