Mrs. Mary Y. Freeland

Mary Y. (Yanus) Freeland, 85, of Breinigsville, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Kenneth Freeland who died in February, 1995.

Mary was a daughter of the late Stanley Yanus and Susan (Beneck) Heath. She was employed at as a technician working for AT&T, then Lucent Technologies, and finally Agere Systems for a total of 30 years until her retirement. Mary was an animal lover who loved to walk her dog, Boots, and spend time with her cats. She also enjoyed planting flowers and peanut butter cup treats.

Mary is survived by her two children, Suzann M. Ellington, Tamaqua, and Robert E. Ellington, Clear Water, FL; two grandchildren, Harley R. Ellington, and Michael R. Ellington; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Makenna and Alexis; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” (Yanus) Bower; and brother, Stanley Yanus.

Services for Mary will be held privately.
